Rural Transport

Providing a wide range of assistance from strategic policy review through to local identification of real transport needs and integration of conventional and less conventional transport services.

  • Development of rural transport funding bids on behalf of local authorities and other organisations
  • Implementation of rural transport schemes following award of funds

  • Integration of rural services including public and unconventional transport services

Recent projects include:

East Midlands Two Wheels to Work Delivery Model

  • Investigating potential models for the deliery of Wheels to Work type activity on a regional, sustainable basis
  • Liaising with partners from across the East Midlands and beyond, including operators of more sustainable Wheels to Work schemes
  • Developing a range of model options and preparing a business case for the preferred delivery model

  • Advising the East Midlands Development Agency on current initiatives and innovation in rural transport
  • Incorporating a literature review and a case study approach
  • Recommending future delivery models for rural transport in the East Midlands
